Here they get a small dose on the founders then it seems to sort of skip to the World Wars. Of course they do mention Lincoln and his EP and say that's what that war was all about. After WWII, it sort goes right into the MLK, JFK, RFK era with quite a lot of photo's of George Wallace standing at the school door and the National Guard, and the fire hoses, dogs, and a few lynchings. That's really nice for them to have to know. (sarcasm there). Then it glides into the Space Age and a little bit on Viet Nam. Hardly mentions Nixon except to say he was one of the POTUS. 4th grade gets state history and even with a whole lot of it to teach, most is on Flagler and St Augustine. Other grades are taught Civics. The election process n such and I would bet more than half couldn't tell you how many there are in the Senate. That's the nap class. They do know the name of the current prez but don't know who it would be if the Prez and the VP weren't able to work. I have a real fear of that happening. Major panic attack at the thought of it.
