Blacks Contribution to the Confederacy

It is interesting to consider that without Black labor subsisting it's field armies the Confederacy would have most likely collapsed within 6 months.Thus President Lincoln's,"Economic Weapon," The Emancipation Proclamation.

In addition to those thousands who constructed fortifications and supported Confederate Armies in the Commisary and Quartermaster Departments.

I note the Approved Confederate Pension Application of a Black Tennessean,Isaac Walker....."I feel that the service I did was very essential and helpfull to the Confederacy,and,that I was as much a soldier in the Confederate Army as those who shouldered and carried a musket."
