What does 'pretending to be Confederates' mean? You either are or you're not. Kind of easy really.
Some of the emotion on the Custer story has been the same as we've had when discussing battles and stuff. Yes, it's sad when a soldier is killed. Yes, there's someone to mourn them. Most of the time it isn't the regular soldiers fault. Having one foot in Confederate Blood and another in Cherokee sort of leaves my arms to be Spanish, English and Scot. Every one of those blood lines was bathed in blood. That is the nature of man. Get rid of something you don't like or kill off people who have something you want, like land. There was blood on this land before the first white man stepped on it and it's still running. I do not believe there's anyone around here who doesn't hold our military in high regard. My Husband was in the US Army. My Father was in the US Army, my Aunt retired a Major from the Army Nurse Corp. My Uncle was a career Marine. My Grandfather was in the Navy and in both World Wars. And that's just a few of em from me. You really ought to get to know some of the really smart ones here.

Were George Washington and the gang American soldiers? No, there wasn't really a name for it yet. They were called Rebels and I guess the folks in England felt like the rebels disrespected their soldiers and so now we're to have a tear for the English mothers? War is War. It ain't pretty. It's brutal. The South has never recovered from the last one she was in. Custer's men were following the orders of an idiot. One wonders if any of those soldiers participated in Sand Creek? Did they take any trophies away from that horrid scene? Many did. We aren't happy the poor misguided troops lost their life, but their leader, the one guiding them, yeah, it was time for him to go.
