Maybe I did jump in too quick but we do have some reenactors who don't take to well to being dissed. They work very hard at getting the real picture out to those who care to watch.
People were fighting for different reasons and some were fighting just to stay alive. That sort of sounds like any war and it is.
I went to a link on the Virtual Wall and found a friend of mine from childhood. He was a Marine, kia in Nam in 1967. For the first time I saw where he was and the recorded information showed he died on the field. 102 years after the Civil War and we were still losing wonderful people in a war we couldn't win.
Not taking anything from the individual soldier, but don't ya think those who are doing the leading could have done a bit better job?
