Wow, Jamie! Why doesn't General Taylor say what he means? Just kidding; he said exactly what he meant. IMHO, Longstreet was a better Division than Corps Commander. My GGF and great uncles' unit, the 18th Georgia Infantry, served under him, after headier days as part of the Texas Brigade. BTW, he had a young widow who spent the rest of her life after his death propping up his reputation, much as Libby Custer did for Custer, though Longstreet was far and above a better man and soldier than was Custer. His reputaion suffered more than it might have otherwise, because he served in the Grant Administration. Stan
