seeing all the good, very good information that is posted on the board and,
like history itself, all of it is lost somewhere in the archives - never to be
seen again. All that time and effort for no reason than satisfying the desire
of the moment.
At least this one time on Ft Sumter, I think the real gems of the discussion
need to be captured in a formal manner, distilled down to their essence, citationed
and authored in a form that allows conclusions to be reached. Those who wish
to disagree with interim conclusions may do so, but must be prepared to defend
to their belief to the last citation.
Just once there needs to be produced a formal presentation of the facts surrounding
Sumter instead of bringing it up every two or three years and rehashing all the old
points previously made.
