OMG!!!!!!! They used it that long? They didn't bus in non-students to start riots? What an amazing thing and in a school NOT one would believe used that whole logo/song/symbol. Good for the neighbor who still flies that flag. There's 3 around the former Rebels turned Gators hs I attended. It's funny how those who want to keep stirring that old pot do this every chance they get but if those who stirred were not around, would anyone really care? I still play Rebel Rouser sort of loudly when I drive by the school. That was our fight song. We are having our 45th class reunion this August and you better believe there's going to be flags galore at the events. None of us have ever wavered in our belief that we had an honorable symbol.
My Granddaughter had to change her Dixie Outfitter shirt (the one she 'borrowed' from my closet) or go home a few years ago. The school she went to is the toward the north end of the county. Good thing she had her JROTC uniform there to change in to. The point my Grand tried to argue was there were 3 blacks wearing Dixie Outfitters shirts too. They didn't have to change a darn thing.
