I do not know that one Joe. My wayback Grandmother recieved one for her husbands service. He died not long after the war of 1812 and I do not know of the cause of death. It may have been war related, just don't know. He recieved land in Elbert County, Georgia (in one of the lotteries) for his service and she's the one who pretty much got it going. She was a Hamilton and the aunt of Alexander.
His, (Benjamin's, not Alexander's) father died a few months after the Revolutionary War. He'd served with Washington the entire time. He wasn't young either. There's a record of him having been hospitalized during that cold winter at Valley Forge. The best we can tell, he had pneumonia. After the war, he left his home in Virginia and went to England to take care of some sort of business but died after getting there. His wife maintained the family home until her death a few years later. I've never heard of any pension for her. Not sure if they had them. This was so close to the end of the war and there were so many things being decided on and I'd guess pensions weren't high on the list because they were all but bankrupt after that war.
