Re: Constitutional Law
In Response To: Constitutional Law ()

You ain't gonna believe this stuff. This very subject was just addressed on Glen Beck. Don't roll your eyes. A couple of Constitutional scholars were on there and they said--- (not an exact quote but what I remember of it)--

When the Founders made their final draft of the Constitution, they took it to the Assembly (I take that to mean congress or representitives of the different 'states' or 'colonies') for a vote. It was passed and the Confederation was just plain gone. No formal statement to that effect, no big talk it over deal, nothing. The assembly voted to adopt what the Founders brought to them as the Constitution and it was then the "Word". The Confederation document was just not used. Just melted away. Never voted to get rid of it. Never voted to change it. They just ignored it.

What amazes me is the way the original thought behind the Constitution has been glossed over and all but changed. Not out of apathy, not by intent by most of the people, but due to pure ignorance and the people do not know they have the right to demand adherence to it. They do not understand, possibly due to lack of specific reading or teaching in History lessons, that the Supremes were never meant to be the all knowing and have the final word as many of our lawmakers imply now. The People are the ones who were meant to have the final word.
