"Jamie, if you don't mind - give us a little bit of your rant"

Dennis, what I mean by rant is this. I feel the flags belong to the decendents of the men who carried them. For people to keep them for selfish reasons just turns my stomach. Nobody is asking whoever may hold a flag to give up their right to ownership. Hey, if they can take a pic of it and sell souvenier t-shirts of it or whatever power to them. But if another descendent would like a picture of the flag or simply to view it I believe the honorable thing to do would be to share.

I was at the wake tonight and some folks were talking about some things from the WBTS that my bro-in-law's Dad inherited. Things like a parole record and some letters and such. Inevitably comments were made along the lines of how valuable they may be. Thank God nobody in the family looks at it that way. But I can tell you from personal experience that when a family member sells off something of that nature they are selling something that can't be replaced. I know, there is a man in Alexandria who believes, as well as I do, that eight of my great-grandfathers diaries are locked away in his aunt's attic. I'll never get to see them though and believe me, that hurts.

Dennis, I hate to rant and grumble but it felt good to vent a little. And by the way, the PDF you sent me the other night was cool. I saved it cause that was some cool pics of the oil rigs and such.
