I can't put my finger on the exact book, gotta look for it, but I think most journals and letters started off with a sense of purpose and about the fall of Vicksburg and Gettysburg, the tone began to change. The length of the campaigns and the shortness of supplies at home added to the burden for those in the service. They could read between the lines from the letters home.
Interesting thought. Will start to keep an eye out for that specific type of outlook.

On the Hamas leaders son's book, is that the one that just got the amnesty to stay here? His story has been interesting and I want to read his book.
