"Gee, I said everybody that held your views was hysterical, but I didn't mean you!" What???

James, you should really try politics. In this current climate you'd be a "natural".

These sites, "History-Sites.Com" dwarf all other Civil War history discussion sites in the level of participation. This particular board is an outlet site for our regular Civil War history posters to vent their current events and non-history related remarks.

I could not be prouder of the participation of the posters here. We do have folks with more or less conservative or liberal, religious or secular, "Strict Constructionists" and Progressives. Unfortunately, it's usually people like you that elevate the rhetoric to insults and name calling and also unfortunately, they tend to represent a Northern view.

There are notable exceptions of broad-shouldered, thoughtful "Yanks" who can feel empathy and have understanding for people on both sides of an issue. The primary reason, that we do not have more participation by the descendants of the "boys in Blue" is that in Northern society, you generally don't care about the American Civil War, have embraced some simplistic and self-righteous view of its causes and spend your time conjuring up new insults, no less disgusting that racism or sexism regarding my Southern society and culture.

In the Orwellian world you and people like you have created, those who defend the original meaning of the Constitution, not a party, place or institution are now attacked as non-mainstream. You sir are the "radical Republican", you sir have turned your back on our founding principles, you dishonor the American dream, not me!

Finally, I said nothing about violence, only political change. Use your cheap defamatory and threatening tactics with someone else.

Jim
