In undergraduate school, a sociology professor chastised me for comparing government treatment of American Indians to the Jews in Germany. His point was the Jews were long ago assimilated into German society, they were Germans. American Indians never had citizenship during the 19th Century stuggles. Not even the 5 Civilized Tribes. Perhaps in the context of the subject at hand, that was a big point.

The treatment of Israel in the past year by this regime does not bode well. They never had any friends in high places other than the U.S. Now there are none and they have LOTS of enemies who would destroy them. And with our military involvement in the Middle East, we don't have many friends.
