Re: What is left for the 4th of July

"As time goes by, we have less in common with the citizens of states like Massachusettes and California."

That was the wisdom of our founders to establish a bicamerial government with only two Senators from each state no matter what the size of those States. Where the smaller States had the same repersentation as the largers States. It was also intended that the Senate would be strutcured in this manner so as the be able to control the demands of the Mob, or the mass citizenry, which would have their vote in the elected repersentatives which were to have been selected by the Popular Vote.

It was a genius plan for Government. Too bad that we failed to stick with it. A Democray will always fail because the people will evenutally grow greedy and vote themself onto the public dole. A Bureaucracy will always fail because that system of Government will outgrow the ability of the citizen to support it with their taxes. Only a Republic, which our forefathers gave us, where the government is by the consent of all the parties involved, survives.

Government by fiat, or edict, will always ends in revolution. It would seem that our present generation of Harvard educated politicians failed to learn the real leassons behind the American Revolution and the War for Southern Independence. And thus we are doomed to repeat those lessons if things do not change.
