Be interesting to know when he gave up control of the plantations. Did they revert back to Martha Martin's family after she died? If not did Steven's son actually take charge of the slaves? I don't have any books on Stevens so am at a loss as to what happened to the property after 1853. Not interested in suppositions, or 'Mustas', but some historical documentation.
