About 30 years ago I recall a radio interview with Rod Stewart and he was explaining his transition from great compositions like Mandolin Wind to the syrupy love ballads like Tonights the Night. He said something similar to when everyone around you says it is all better than religion, it is hard to keep a perspective. I almost felt sorry for him. Same goes for Glenn Beck because he is highly intelligent, immensley funny, researches current political events, and best of all, he is a libertarian. And he is surrounded by people who like him, some who adore him and some who love to work for him. And he gets "4,000 emails a day", mostly from people who want to kiss his arse.
But, Glenn Beck nearly breaks my heart with his nationaly broadcast rants against my Southern ancestors. Perhaps, for me, this is a lesson learned.
