Did you ever ride in the convoys from Ft. Polk to Ft. Hood? My grandparents had a small ranch (pasture) on Hwy 190, just east of Woodville, TX. My brother and I used to ambush the patrols from behind their pond with quasi-authentic carbines. We had no genuine history education, so y'all were the yankees. No hard feelings.
