Jim, I ordered his service file from you, but I have much, much more on him, inclucing copies of all 27 letters from him to his wife. She died without him knowing it and several letters were written to her after she died. He walked home from Vicksburg. He was a newspaper editor and postmaster after the war, marrying two more times, died at age 62. Have copies of his will and Obits.

Is he a relative or do you collect civil war letters, I have typed copies (sent some to Allan) and a couple typed copies of Holcombes from Texas sent home during the war. One file on a Dr. Holcombe, Blount Co. AL. Letter he sent home and a letter from his commanding offficer telling of his capture.
