Maybe in the Army, but when I enlisted in the Navy in 1956, we were to be a Georgia Company in boot camp. When we got to San Diego, we were nine men short of company strength. Eight Californians and one Kiowa Apache from Oklahoma were added to our number. Of course, after graduation, we went hither and yon. I was sent to Airman School in Norman, Oklahoma, and then to Photo School in Pensacola. Hi, Pam. It was five months before I arrived at my first permanent duty station, NAS Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
