So true! I knew an ER doctor who had to ask nurses to read his notes, because his handwritng was so bad. A colleague and I used to go to the National Guard Armory in Lawrenceville every Thursday to file unemployment claims. My co-worker admittedly could not read his own handwriting, so he would carry a type writer with him to file the claims. When computers became more common, he used a PDA with a key board to take notes at meetings. He was smart enough to write business plans for programmers, but still couldn't write well enough to read.
