Now my favorite bedside piece is a Smith 686, 357, wore one for so long I just like to have a 357 around, besides its like owning 2 guns. Shoot 38 at cans, loaded with 357 when its in the bedroom. And to me its plenty big enough to get the job done, anything bigger to me has too much recoil. To take out, my favorite is a 40 year old Colt Cobra. I have hauled it many a mile without haveing to use it. Just shot it enough to know how I can hit with it. I prefer Revolvers, I know they will shoot when called on and I don't have to worry about finding the safety. At the range I shoot a lot of 22s, can shoot a lot more for a lot less cost. 357 are close to $1 a shot!
I have never got rid of any gun I ever bought, when I buy them I adopt them, like my children, they are mine for life.
I would like to get a WBTS rifle like my granddaddies used. I just feel I would be closer to them if I just shot the same gun they fought with. I don't have many, they are a luxury I can live without and I only have one of nine grandchildren that has any intrest in them, he will get them all except for the WWII and WBTS ones that I will probably give to museums.
Well have babbled enough. Nice to hear from you Us oldies have to keep the next generation intrested in our history, the public schools sure won't - Ken
