It's a new book, or at least one I haven't seen before, with a collection of photo's that seem to have been unearthed from the dusty bowels of the state archives. It's called 'Remembering Pensacola' by Jacquelyn Tracy Wilson. Her source for the ones I mentioned is the archives. I have a lot of old photos and some of the other books that are collections of Pensacola during the years by different people but the majority of these are not in the others. You may have seen it at the Hysterical Society Shop n Museum with the spooky stairs when you were here but I found it at Sam's Club of all places.

The interesting thing to me was Chase had the downtown house and it was next to Mallory's. I guess back then old Warrington and the Navy Yard were thought to be too far from the real social scene so they had 2 homes.

Mrs Mallory was Angela Moreno and her family has been here since the beginning like my Caro line. If you think back and remember downtown Pensacola, they would have been on the SE corner of Palafox and Wright st. The Perry home was just across the street north of them. The old Florida Theatre and the Dainty Dell Deli are on the property now. I was topical co-ordinator for the Escambia County Heritage Book, Vol II and I have some of the stories that were submitted and there's some info in them that puts it all in place so to speak.

Not sure if some of the Fort photo's are new too. Will get back to ya on them in a bit.

Pam
