however Andersonand his men were drawing supplies from Charleston and were free to visit the town. As far as I can tell the biggest threat to the forces may have been a jealous husband or boyfriend, maybe a father proctecting a daughter. >
They had access to the town for a while, and then were told they were not allowed. Promises were made for daily delivery of supplies, but....nothing was delivered for sometime. One reason being that the storekeeper that was "supposed" to deliver supplies to Fort Sumter, wasn't informed of the permission. Its all in the OR's, if only one would read the historical documents.
