He was at the arsenal at Colombus and Augusta Georgia too. This was info I found. The family seemed to not keep any records or anything. After the war they came to Pensacola and he was Mayor for a year, Tax Collector for a year and Post Master for a year. They buried 3 children in Georgia during the war but there's a memorial marker next to FC's grave at St Michael's for them. I believe I really need his CSR for both sides. I'm really trying to figure out why he switched sides after the war started. He was born in Pittsfield, Mass. but his father Gad Humphrey's was the Indian Agent in St Augustine. Maybe he didn't like the way the US fired his dad because he seemed to favor the Indians side of disputes. I do not know, but sure wish I did.

Fc's son Gad (named for F.C's father) was hubby's maternal grandmother Jennie's father. Hubbys Paternal line is the one out of Alabama with the Stiggens, Nolen, Stacey and more.
