Re: Help save Gettysburg Battlefield.

It's a double edged sword but without preservation of any kind, who will even know things happened in the not so distant future? I think the later displays of slave chains and other things are bad enough and we do know who to blame for that. The battlefields are where men fought and died. It is dishonorable to violate the land where so much was given in order to satisfy a persons little pleasure outing or a Walmart shoppers place to pick up toilet paper.
The entire system of parks that were battlefields has gone from PC to an attempt to just get rid of any evidence. If our children don't understand where we, as a group of people, have been how will they ever understand the constant vigil it takes to keep this part of our collective history from vanishing?
