I got the book today, and I really love it. The Confederate photos I've seen before, but I like it when the editors use new images from the real negatives and I believe that is what was done here. The pictures show much more detail than I've seen before. On page 3, the picture of the large mortar, with crew and the light house in the background; its much larger than my copies and it show many more men, especially on the right side of the picture. When I was camping on the base last summer I took a hike along the dirt road from the camp ground towards the lighthouse and past it towards the Chiefs Club "Lighthouse Point Restaurant" overlooking the beach. I had this photo with me and I was able to locate the approximate location of this morter emplacement. It's on the lighthouse side of the Chiefs Club parking lot or in the parking lot. Walking down the dirt road that connects the parking lot to the camp ground, passing between the Lighthouse and the water, I found places that looked like man made gun emplacements or earthen walls. The picture on page 4 is new to me, and so is 6 and 7.
