I think the pictures are clearer too. She did a nice job on the sequence. The last time I walked that way, from the fort to the lighthouse I was right at the waters edge and it was years ago. Each time I look at the pictures taken of the 'Parade Ground' inside the fort it amazes me how big it looks when in reality, 3 or 4 classes of Kindergarten kids fill it up pretty quick. I had to yank one of the little boys down from the wall. He'd gotten up there before we could stop him. Don't take little kids unless ya have a leash.
Don't know how they could shoot those cannon and everything else they did in that little area.

The Archeaology department at UWF did some digging over there between the lighthouse and fort about 10 years ago but I haven't seen anything they found. Some of the men in public works had uncovered some items and that brought the work people to a halt so the history people could take a look. Probably found some common items so they didn't detail it for the public. Wish it weren't illegal to just go dig over there. That would be fun but don't want to go to jail for it. Rumor has it that a lot of things have been found by the crews that mainain the golf course. Some were Indian artifacts. But I know nuthink!! ;)

Page 24, the big house on the left is Mallory's and the one on the right was Chase's.
