No, sadly I am not surprised. Just as I'm not surprised there was no real uproar when the Attorney General condemned the Arizona Law and in the next sentence said he had not read it. We no longer have leadership in this country, it has gone way beyond anything I thought I'd see. We now have a Dictatorship and it's going to get worse. Next they are going to mandate we all wear purple shirts.

Ya know, just thinking of all the men who fought together in the Mexican War just before they fought against each other in the WBTS we see something we probably will never see again. Soldiers wearing the US uniform being allowed to be soldiers. To shoot when they deemed it necessary and they weren't looking over their shoulder to see if some dang reporter was going to call them a killer. Wouldn't it be a real hoot to see men like Lee, Longstreet, Jackson and yes, Grant and Sherman be interviewed by CNN?

It just befuddles the brain. Our ancestors came to this land and they came from different places with different languages and dialects but they learned to speak the common language. My Spanish ancestors came from Spain, they then had to learn English, then French, then they spoke Spanish again. Once Jackson came to town, they were speaking English again. My paternal GreatGrandparents came from Prussia. They learned English because they wanted to live here. They never expected the entire nation to accomodate them.

It just ain't right I tell ya. The Southwest and the Old South are being redestructed all over again.
