Well, actually it would probably depend on which direct you go, up, or down. But, my understanding is that after the Great White Throne judgement that all our tears would be removed and that we wouldn't remember anything earthly anymore. That our attentions would be turned to Heavenly matters.

KJV Rev. 21, v. 4, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

It in many commentaries, it is wide intreperted that these "former things" beside the physical structure of the earth and the old heaven will also include our memories which would bring unpleasentness to the Kingdom of Heaven, such as wars, and loved ones who did not recieve Salvation. In fact any memory which would return our thought to earthly pursuits. Those things are passed away so as not to distract us from our heavenly duties. We will have a new mind and conscienceness worthy of being in heaven. We won't remember any sorrows that we encountered while here on this earth (God shall wipe away all tears).
