Though I haven't been commenting, I'm reading everyone of these fascinating 150 Years Ago Today postings.

I was very interested in a posting from a day ago about the perceived encitement of slave insurrection near Houston, TX by abolitionists and the comments of the "old democrat" regarding his fears for the split of the party.
