I told you it would be so. Let the little gleam of money get involved and principals be damned, those go out the window. That is the reason that I don't support the National Military Parks systems. They are not interested in History except as dictated by political influences and numbers to keep their funding. Neither do I trust "National" Historic Preservation Groups who are associated closely with the National Parks.

Gettysburg is so over commercialized now that the building on a Casino itself would make no difference to the complexion of the town. But how many Casinos will the Gettysburg Historic Battlefield Preservation support? Is 1 enought? Is 10 too many?

How do you stop the overdevelopement of historic sites? Once you let the Camel's Nose into the Tent then before long the Camel is inside and you are out in the stables. That is why we are upset with these developements. But who do you trust when these "preservation" groups and "historical parks" stab you in the back?

Maybe the Gettysburg Historic Battlefield preservation trust is doing like the Native Americans. Maybe they are going to get the proceeds from the Casinos take. Ha, You know that isn't going to happen. Those people who build casinos are not into charitable giving without strings attached. As far as I am concerned anyone who visit a casino, or buy a lottery are simply submitting to a Voluntary Tax and have more money than they need. I have heard all the arguments that 'I only play for fun' and 'I limit myself to X Amount', but if there were no prospect of winning you wouldn't waste the money of buying the ticket, or playing the game in the first place. Those people who run the games are out to make money, or they would not be in the business in the first place. Those who do win even the large prizes are even pawns of the system themselves, because the Government is going to get at least Half of those winning anyway. So no wonder that the Government supports gambling they are the biggest winners. They get a take of every pot.
