One of the other Board members was doing some searching on the old local newspaper microfilm before our meeting last night and it was the period during WWII. The word "Japs" was freely tossed around and they made it sound like all Germans were Nazi's. While some Germans were, there were many who were not but they were silent because we all know what would happen if they'd spoken out. I have some old Stars and Stripes magazines and other Army news in print things and they tossed around a lot of stuff too. Very interesting stories and one was on liberating a small prison where women were held as 'traitors' and tortured before they were killed.
