Re: 150 Years Ago Today...August 21, 1860

I remember some of the events then. Wasn't that when Clara Barton was caring for the wounded over there and got the 'Lady of the Lamp' nickname?
This type of news helps remind us that while some of us may believe we were the largest nation of 'unrest' in that time, there was a lot of focus on others. Seems they were rather busy when our 'troubles' began and that could well be part of why they weren't going to invest in either of the sides in our fight. That and they were waiting for a sign on how the wind was blowing and how if affected their interest before they even considered who to back here.
