I wrote a bio-sketch of Sir Richard Burton for my Victorian literature class a lifetime ago, when I was a liberal arts major. He wrote The Book of a Thousand Nights and a Night (aka 1001 Arabian Nights). RB immersed himself in Arab culture and learned the language. He was one of the premiere explorers of Africa in the 19th Century and he was lucky to survive his adventures. And he was fond of porn.
