It reminded me of the old saying "Dog days" about August. Lots of things were 'forgiven' because everyone knew the one doing the offensive deed would never, ever consider doing whatever it was of their own free will. It had to be "Dog day" influence. "Attica, Attica"!! Anyone remember that one? "Dog Days" again. It's like a legal holiday to commit mayhem and it's excused before one does it.
