In the late 40s/early 50s, in my preteen years, I picked cotton on my uncle Cash Hicks' farm. Being family, I didn't get paid! The sack was at least twice as long as I was, about two feet across, and was dragged along behind as we picked. I could just about fill one and still drag it. Chopping(weeding) cotton was another fun task, as was pulling fodder in the dry corn field after harvest, to feed the mules. They looked like they were smiling as they chewed those dry husks and stalks! Stan
