I sort of look at it this way. Course, y'all know I'm not too smart in the hunting field. It's like we just cried when that mean old hunter shot Bambi's Daddy. He was so majestic and a very fine buck. True, the hunter may have wanted the venison, but probably wanted the rack more. We have land owners in the north end of the county asking hunters to come hunt. They are over populated again. The gators, well, they've found the evidence they've been around as long as the cockroach. Since the days of T-Rex. It's sad to see an old warrior, be it human or not, be taken down. But it's sadder to see them get old and suffer from an illness or something like that. Many of the big, smarter, old gators won't be culled. That's why we have so many big ones. We are seeing them more and more here. I'm not sure they ever had it right when they said they were endangered. They forgot about many of the other areas and just focused on Pogoville and the Glades. Enough of the big guys will always be around. They don't get big by being stupid even if they don't have big brains.
