Re: 150 Years Ago Today...Houston Quits

My favorite part of the year was just after gathering the last of the corn. After running a sod buster over the field and knocking the stalks down, Daddy would let me drive the tractor dragging a railroad tie to bust up the dry clumps of dirt. I would drive around and around until after dark, kicking up clouds of dust. I got completely fithly and had to be washed off in the yard with a hose. What fun!
