My Aunt Agnes, the oldest daughter, whose husband Cash Hicks had the farm, used a home made "broomsedge" broom to sweep her yard so clean the chickens had to forage elswhere! She wouldn't let us in the house with our shoes on, either! I didn't do that again until I was in Japan!

I don't know of any relatives who distilled their own, though many lived up in the hills, but preacher granddad's father ran a saloon in Marietta. Stan
