I'm thinking it's a possibility. There were known uprisings in the Carribean and with Nat Turner and then Brown causing problems I'd say it was a big concern. It had to be. The Abolishionits knew fear was a tool also. Given the political climate, it probably was a fear fed thing. We are just now seeing these articles but it makes one wonder what others may have been in newspapers across the South. Something to ponder on.
