Re: The Secession Tradition in America

I too am anxious for November to arrive. There is one huge problem. In order for one's vote to be counted, one has to go to the polls. In the primary elections less than 35% of registered voters cast their ballots. In the run off elections caused by the lack of 50%+1 vote, results, there was less than 30% votes cast from registered voters.

To me this means that about 70% of the registered voters actually determined who is now a candidate for office. It is commendable (freedom of speech) to voice objections to the way our current administration is taking the county, but if we don't stand tall and go to the polls all the talk comes to naught.

Those that have the most to gain, those who look to the present government as the savior of our country, will be at the polls come November. Be sure you and all that you know with a like objection to the road our country is going please vote. Hundreds of thousands of individuals have DIED in order for us to have the duty and privilege to vote.

Now some of those crazies who urge the burning of our Confederate Flag and paying compensation for having been a slave in Civil War days will likely be holding a political office where the will cast their vote because we did not cast our vote.

I did get a mention of the Civil War in this post.

Please don't stay at work or at home in November and by so doing tell those that died that their sacrifice was in vain.
