These articles are most interesting. We are getting a better picture of how things were reported and the reactions from those who read the reports. Some are taking me longer to 'digest' so I can put a better perspective on them. You can certainly read between the lines to find there were many Militia's preparing for a war then seemed more probable by the day. I'm even more convinced that (while it was one of the issues) slavery was not the only fly in the ointment. I'm also getting the feeling that the Abolitionist were not just talking about the evils of slavery but the also took a more active route to assist slaves in causing harm to their owner. Quite a bit to ponder on isn't it?
