It's interesting there were none produced yet Bragg somehow managed to have one made, in Georgia, using the metal from a Federal/Union/Yankee that was melted down and the medal he had ordered/designed was presented to the Daughters of Charity. The Nuns were among the last to leave the area around Ft Barrancas. They continued to carry on their work nursing the wounded during the attack by the Federal troops from Ft Pickens and a few ships at the entrance to the bay. Seems the Feds cared very little that there was a hospital in the same general area. Bragg did not forget their bravery. For all of the things we seem to find him coming up short in the performance area, we can also find something positive too.
