I've been as bad as any on some of the things I can see he wasn't that effective at Jamie. Maybe he just shouldn't have been placed in command of troops that were really fighting with real bullets. He seemed to do a nice job of getting them in shape to fight and he did remember the nuns. It's easy to toss rocks at him for things we wish he'd not done or did and shouldn't have but then again, others sort of fall in there too at times. I'm still trying to figure out why Lee wouldn't listen to Longstreet at Gettysburg. Would a saved a bunch of lives. :)
