Who knows, maybe we'll see those beautiful bolls flowing across the fields of the Delta again. Of course, these days we pick Cotton with very sophisticated and expensive "combines".
I miss the Cotton fields of the South I knew as a kid. Here again, for those ready to pounce, I do not want to re-institute share cropping or have people out in the fields bent-over, picking the Cotton by hand, singing old "negro spirituals". It's the sheer beauty and nostalgia of a cotton field at harvesting time that I'd like to see again.
