Re: Cotton Prices Hit 140-Year High...
ROLFL!!!!!!! You have a good point Alan but the silver lining in the equation is that the demand for Auburn T-Shirts is up.
Just got 2 new ones and a jacket myself. Maybe that's going to balance it out. On second thought, maybe I ought to wait til after the game today to say anything. My Granddaughter is up there and for some strange reason, we tend to lose when any of us are in the stadium. We do tend to believe all of these games are just practice for the one game that really counts. Sorry David. Y'all are going down!! :) (not that I really believe that, just hope if I say it enough it'll happen cause we tend to be sloppy in the 2nd half). Next year, there will be another Southern team. The University of West Florida has been given the ok and is getting their act together to join the ranks of the Saturday fanatics.
Today, the Oil market may be a close analogy to the Cotton market from back then. One would think the 'powers that be' would at least look at the past and see if some of this outsourcing is a good thing. We have even gotten to where most of the shrimp served in the 'chain' eateries and grocery stores is farm shrimp from Japan. Residents of the Gulf Coast, see that as blasphemy. What has happened to the "Land of Plenty"? The country that can build or produce anything a body would need? I think Unions might have something to do with it.
