Jim mentioned that he didn't have time to read or make sense of all the posts generated during the past week or so. IMHO he misjudged the posts he had time to read.
He does ask that those who post make them relevant to the topic, and show consideration and respect for others. Jim also tends to steer people away from topics that tend towards recrimination and pointless controversy, and generate more heat than light. I would do the same if this was my message board.
Bottom line, people are going to believe what they want to believe. They'll ignore all evidence to the contrary and proudly stand on a rotten limb, and you'll have all kinds of abuse heaped on you for pointing out that their limb is rotten. All you can do is walk away and let them preach to whoever wants to listen.
In the future I will attempt to make a limited number of attempts to explain a point or produce evidence. If the other person has their mind made up, there's no point in further exchanges. Unless you're married to that person, of course!
