Alan, I don't know if you appreciate my support or not on this issue, or given the hostile reaction I have gotten from many here, or if my agreement with you is unhelpful,. but I tell you this, even when you and I have not agreed on an issue, I never once thought you didn't comprend my reasoning, or were trying to "write into" my thoughtds things that just were not there, putting non-existent words and thoughts into my sentences, and I have appreciated your posts very much.

I am truly baffled by the reception I have gotten here, by intelligent persons, who have accused me repeatedly of "a northern propaganda and prejudiced yankee agenda" for simply asking for a discussion of what CSA military leaders time and again themselves and in their own time said was urgently needed for them to secure their own victory, that was not achieved, just as they predicted would happen if these urgent measures they pushed hard for were not adopted.
