Maybe it's not what you are saying, it's how it is coming across. The one example that stands out is the one where you said the "Federal" Army was the higher authority. Now, even if one were to fall for that, even you know it's apples n peaches. They are both good. They are both marketable, but one is not 'higher or better' than another. They are still seperate. Depends on ones taste as to what they wish to partake of.

There was disagreement in the Confederate Army and the leadership in Richmond. Heck, there was disagreement in the Unio/Federal/United States Army and the leadership in DC. Still is for that matter. Doesn't make one more right than the other. Different postitions in the field make for different thoughts on how to handle matters. It's always been that way. Not just an American or a Confederate problem. It was kinda testy for the Romans too.
