Re: What about this JAKEo?? HEY JIM

George:

Thirdtime posted now;

I was paraphrasing this firect quote from the Charleston editorial that begins this thread.

------
" In 1860 South Carolina seceded alone from the old union of States. Her people, in Convention assembled, invited the slaveholding States (none others) of the old Union to join her in erecting a separate Government of Slave States, for the protection of their common interests. All of the slave states, with the exception of Maryland and Kentucky, responded to her invitation. The Southern Confederacy of slave States was formed. "

-----

Then I said that this same type of language the "we the slave-holding states, join with our sister slave-holding states to form a confederacy of slave-holding states" is the typical sentiment found throughout the first hand documents throughout the south prior to secession and throughout the war years. It is a simple paraphrase, that was clear in the context of my post, and your attempt to paint it in any other manner is simply a hoot.

Yeah Glen Beck also held George Washington's handwritten Inauguaral Address too, in his very own hand. He is alot of fun too.

So George, why not take this opportunity to tell the folks how the 2 million white CSA soldiers who witnessed first hand the bravery and manliness of the 65,000 black CSA soldiers on ther battle lines went home and told their neighbors and friends and local leaders, and local papers about it, that these black soldiers earned the respect and gratitude of their country? Why not tell the forum how these white soldiers came home from the war to tell all the locals how wonderfully they were integrated on the battle lines and how the black soldiers fought as men same as the whites? That the integration they had experienced in their lines as soldiers was something that made them proud and was unforgettable?

Why not tell how the grateful white soldiers of the CSA passed that sentiment on to their sons and grandsons, who then in turn repayed the debt the CSA owed these valorous black soldiers by honoring their bravery? It is a marvelous story.

I distinctly remember how the sons and grandsons of the confederate white soldiers marched alongside with the sons and grandsons of the confederate black soldiers to stand in solidarity against Wallace when he made his famous stand in the school door, or was it Faubus? I forget which one it was exactly, but the CSA never forgot to honor those 65,000 black veterans, erect memorials to them, and looked after their families. The Daughters of the Confederacy made that a particular project in the 1910-1920s, wasn't it?.

I also do remember distinctly how all the members of the SCV bravely stood their ground against the dogs on that one bridge, (was it at Selma?) and when firehoses too were used against them, as those white southern men bravely held up their handmade signs "Remember our Black Veterans". It was truly inspiring.
